A well written blog is a destination for your target audience, it demonstrates your expertise and supports your social media and SEO performance too. #1 Write ideas down when they come to you
Few things are more intimidating than a blank sheet of paper or a blank screen. Take the pressure off by building up a bank of blog post titles and content ideas that you can draw from anytime. Try apps like Evernote or OneNote or even just a good old fashioned notebook.

#2 Make a plan
The time you can dedicate to blogging will obviously depend on your resources so make a commitment to blog consistently; whether that be once a month or once a week. Set reoccurring appointments in your diary and honour them as you would any other business activity. Keep in mind that quality and relevance is key though so don’t sacrifice quality for quantity.
#3 Agree objectives
How can you hope to succeed if you don’t know what success looks like? Decide what search terms you want the blog to rank for and measure performance regularly. Benchmark current traffic levels so you can monitor increased visits to the blog. Or maybe your blog is a valuable resource for existing customers or reduces the strain on your customer service team? Different objectives will drive different content decisions.

The use of quality imagery, visual aids and photographs is no longer optional. The web is a visual medium after all.
